RAM Doubler 2
This control panel (earlier version was an extension) allows you to double/triple your RAM capacity. A majority of users will find it useful, although there are numerous possible conflicts. You MUST have the equivalent to the additional RAM free on your hard drive. In other words, if you use RAM Doubler with 8MB of RAM you must have AT LEAST 8MB of free on your hard drive. Connectix reports that your computer performance will suffer a 2 to 4 percent slowdown when RAM Doubler is installed. But it's still faster than Virtual Memory.
This control panel is part of the ClockWork package. It installs the global Finder menu and displays alarms, if the application is not running. It is also inserting the global Finder menu showing today's events. You cna use the Reminder control panel to temporary turn off all alarms or to choose a different calendar file.
